A few nights ago, we drove 6 hours to San José in the middle of the night.
Our dog was in pain, and everything pointed to urgency. So you go. You rearrange everything, cancel plans, and shift your entire day around it, because it feels like something needs to happen now.
It turned out to be gas. Colic. Nothing serious.
(An expensive fart.)
But that’s not what stayed with me.
What stayed with me was how quickly everything reorganised around something that felt urgent, and how familiar that actually is.
Because this is exactly how most work operates.
Everything is marked urgent.
Everything needs attention.
Everything feels important.
But almost nothing gets decided. Nothing truly closes. So instead of one clear line, you end up carrying five half-open ones.
We’ve been trained to respond and de.lay, not to close. To keep things moving, not to finish them. And it looks responsible. Thoughtful. Even intelligent.
But it creates something else: constant low-level pressure, without resolution.

No more thinking. Not by more information. But something far less comfortable: closing lines, making a decision. Because clarity doesn’t appear while everything stays open.
This Thursday, I’m publishing the next layer, a Rhythm Note on the systems that trained us into delay.
Not because we’re indecisive, but because the structure we operate in rewards keeping things open.
At the same time, I’ve been building something in the background: The Blueprint. Not as a method to manage more or to organise things better, but as a different environment entirely.
Because what I keep seeing is this: most people are trying to plan their work inside systems that assume constant output. Linear days, full weeks, everything evenly distributed. But that’s not how capacity actually works.
Energy moves. It builds, it drops, it recovers. And most systems ignore that completely.
So instead of working with that rhythm, people try to control it. They push through low energy, force clarity when it’s not there, and delay decisions because there’s no real space to make them.
The Blueprint is built around that difference. It creates a structure that adapts to your rhythm rather than forcing you into a fixed one.
Working in phases. Planning based on capacity. Instead of forcing everything into a linear system.
And in that structure, something shifts.
Not because you push harder, but because the timing starts to make sense.
